China must end it's illegal occupation of Tibet. This short sentence was deleted from (another) paper earlier on. Only the Chinese people have their fate, and that of Tibet in their hand, as China is currently very powerful and successful economically, militarily, and can feed its population, the Tibetans, like other minorities subjugated in ruthless dictatorships will keep being subjugated.
The west cannot afford to help them, as there is no leverage, or strategical interest.
One can arm them, but that will make matters worse as China will then use that as an excuse to decimate them.
The Tibetans do not strike me as natural warriors like say the Pashtuns...
It is not an issue I looked into, I wish the Tibetans well, but I doubt they will succeed unless the Chinese population help them...
The same goes for other minorities such as the Uighur.
As for an Islamic revival, forget it, too many sects and differences of opinion...
I think an Afghani (Djamal Al-Afghani, at the turn of the last century) said about the Arabs, but it works for the "muslims" too, "The only thing the Arabs agreed upon, is never to agree upon themselves".
Itaffaqa Al'arab ann la yattafiquu... replace arabs with "muslims"...

"Who is this tribe you speak of, the Arabs?" T.E.Lawrence was asked. Tibet was invaded by Britain in 1904 at the height of the "Great Game" the Younghusband expedition.
