Well yes so I've been AWOL for a longish period. I haven't written anything on this journal that is meaningful for a long time and its not that I don't want to but more that I get depressed and just can't bring myself to bother to write anything. So yeah onto the long post from my corner of the world.
Its Elections time again and everyone is campaigning.....I've voted before but it did no good as the party that came into power made the country worse, and I say that because they have been in power for 10 years and yet there has been little or no development in this country. Crime is skyhigh, wages are poor, the judiciary system is totally fubar and frankly at this point I really hope that someone new comes into power on November 5th 2007.
I went to see Resident Evil: Extinction today with
laurapetri and it was ok. Nothing to rave about but a good way to pass just about an hour and a half. We were originally not going to go as neitherof us felt like leaving the house but I'm glad we got out and saw the movie. Afterwards we walked through the mall which was open as there was going to be a fireworks display later on. We didn't want to stay for that as it would end too late and frankly we'd been out long enough. On a plus side I bought myself some Gummi worms and although I still have to get some soft serve ice-cream I was pleased with my purchase. Both of us are not supposed to have this much sugar but dread sometimes all you can do is eat and hope to work it off somehow. I was less happy with my attempts get home as travelling on a Sunday is quite rough.
Sometimes the people that live in this world amaze me and yet they shouldn't since I always seem to see the bad side of people. There were no cars on the stand this evening and I joined a line of about five persons waiting for transport to get home. There were 3 girls and 2 guys including myself, lined up there just waiting and here's the ocurrences in point form.
1. Young mother and children (2) nearly knocked down by a reversing driver who never looked back.
2. Two old men jump into the first car that came onto the stand completely disgregarding the fact that there was a clear line up.
3. When one of the women proceeds to make her disgust clear, the driver of the car insists that the two men leave his vehicle so that those waiting have first preference.
4. The full car leaves and the rest of us on the stand are treated to one of the men mumbling that, "he shoulda buss 2 slap in she mouth,."
Now really is this what you want pure strangers to hear you mumbling in public? Dread people are crazy in this place. Firstly he jumbied the line and then wanted to put a beat down on a young woman because he was vex that she spoke her mind and made her stance clear. I find she was damn right to make him get out of the car. Not only did he come out of no where but its a late Sunday night and as a man its only polite to let a woman get transportation before you.
The age of chivalry is truly dead when a man wants to beat up a woman because he disliked the way she spoke to him. I listened to him and really such statements just enforce the fact that its going to be a cold day in hell before I ever enter into a relationship with anyone of the male species. I really hate men and incidences like this just enforce that hatred.
Sometimes the outside world beyond the confines of my apartment depresses me to the point of not wanting to go outside. I hate having to deal with people who just don't get that there is more to the world than just the routines that they follow. I mean that yes its election time again but people have a duty to make a stand for change and not vote for the person because you like the party they fall under. I want people to vote for change and not stagnancy.
But then again as I know from personal experience people are masses of stupid walking around and frankly whatever happens in this general election doesn't have the power to surprise me as I really only expect the worse from those around me.
Oh well.
Anyway I need to get to bed as I have that most dreaded of occurences tomorrow.....yes work after the weekend.
