LDS, Mormonism and Living in Vegas-
I have to say that back when my partner and I lived in Boston-i can say that i counted the number of mormons to one hand-there was the kid at school(which scrwed me over with money) and there was Mitt Romney which everyone back home thought he was an ass-
But moving to Las Vegas, my friend Gilmore-whom is a lesbian, tattooed, pierced and Mormon. She is wicked cool and always And we would talk about our religions and she always said to me that she would love to see what i have to say regarding the Book of Mormon and all the stuff associated with LDS-
I must say that living here, with neighbors that are LDS-they are quiet and somewhat secretive about most if not all their beliefs etc. Now I have discovered the BYU channel (brigham young university) and watching, it's like they are speaking in codes and stuff that if perhaps if the isn't LDS (myself and my other half aren't)-which for the record, I have no interest in becoming LDS-I am quiet happy with my religious Beliefs from today until my end-so don't worry guys-Joe ain't going anywhere-Joe follows the gods-and i like it that way =)
However, it seems to me from the programs regarding Joseph Smith etc., LDS or Mormonism seems to be a very american institution-which hey isn't a bad thing-
My question to Matt has been, what if let's say Moroni wasn't an angel of god but let's say a divinity of the area inwhich he appeared to Joseph? Not to say that Moroni doesn't exist-my question is different-what if Joseph Smith UNDERSTOOD Moroni from a then Christian perspective?
and just to stress it-NO JOE ISN"T BECOMING MORMON-I m quiet happy with my religion-actually i dont think there is a word to describe my feelings towards my religious path-

Life here is different-while the strip is always on the go-it's interesting that the towns, or cities on the outside-quiet down, becoming sleepy as the night goes on-Even stuff closing oddly early on a Sat. night still gets me-home it was like around nine things would close-here im lucky if 8.30-as i discovered-With it's heat and dry air-Life is def. interesting here in the city of Sin as they love to call it-
