the Remuria
I know I haven't posted here in ages and I'm sorry for that, I do post slightly more over at my other blog.
But I thought I would blog here as a way to kinda write down a thought I have been having.
I have been toying with the idea about Remus and Romulus-as we know from popular legends that Romulus killed Remus and founded Rome. Well doing some research on the Lemuria, which on my personal calendar I have moved it Oct.31| Nov.1-
However, according to Ovid's Fasti, the origin of this ancient festival, who derives Lemuria from a supposed Remuria was that it had been instituted by Romulus to appease the spirit of Remus. So, that got me thinking-and toying with the idea of the Remuria (May 9,11,13) as a day of atonement and appeasing Remus' spirit.
A day filled with prayers and meditation....
