In February, I started planning for attending the convention Dokomi in Düsseldorf (Germany) and
baked muffins. They are really easy and fast to make! I also purchased some lolita items
and met with friends.
01 In
January,
I wanted to dress in a galaxy theme for the 7th Star Wars movie, but found that I do not own anything with that theme.
(Well, a blue top does not count, I would say. ;) Therefore, I commissionned a blue jewelry set with glitter
from Rai over
Dunkelsüß.
She was very nice and even made samples with different colors and different kinds of glitter,
so I could select one that matched my imaginations the best!
02 My lolita clothing purchases that arrived in February,
aside from the glitter jewelry:
- White Moon full of blood blouse by Little Moon,
bought using clobbaonline as shopping service
The blouse is very nice and I love the color, but it is approx. 10cm too small in the bust. ;_;
The blouse is 10cm smaller than the official bust measurement...
So another blouse that can only be worn underneath a dress... - Sailor skirt from Rabbit Heart,
bought 2nd hand over Facebook
This is the perfect shade of blue for sailor lolita in my opinion and the skirt fits well ;) - Btssb bolero and DreamV blouse, bought 2nd hand over Facebook:
Both items are a little bit too small in the bust, but still okay:
I can wear the bolero open and maybe use safety pins on the blouse or wear it under a dress.
My bust is smaller than the bust of the previous owner, so it seems I have a weired body shape... - I bought a hair barrette from the Gargle lucky pack that
lolita goes bad
did not want to keep:
I like its slighly 1920s style. ;)
I also bought a JSK from Metamorphose and an OP from Putumayo 2nd hand, but they will arrive in March.
I even sold some more items from my
Facebook sales album, but I did not have time to upload the remaining sales items.
03 We had our monthly evening with board games with friends on Feb 2, 2016.
We ordered Indian food and made Gyozas (dumplings filled with vegerables and/or meat), soooo delicious!
We bought them deep-frozen from a Japanese supermarket.
We played
Camel Up (you bet on a race with camels) and tried a new card game:
Bad Bunnies. Each player gets 7 cards with numbers. The player who puts down a card indicates if the next card should have a higher or lower number. It is allowed to play a card with the same number instead of fulfilling the request. If a player does not have a matching card, she is out of the game.
The bunny illustrations of the card are cute! And I like the game because the winner is partly selected by luck, not only strategy.
04 With April and Dokomi approaching fast, I finally decided and bought
tickets for the
Putumayo Teaparty
and
Saturday at Dokomi. ;)
I will probably be in Düsseldorf from Tuesday April 26 until Sunday May 1. I hope that I can meet other lolitas,
eat Japanese food often and see
red pandas in the zoo. ;)
05 I went to
Hans im Glück with my friends to eat burgers.
("Hans im Glück" would be translated word-by-word as "John in luck".
It refers to the fairy tale
Hans in luck by the brothers Grimm
about a guy who gets betrayed by several trading partners, but is finally happy even after having lost his wage.)
"Hans im Glück" is a restaurant chain and famous for making delicious burgers with high-qualiy ingredients and
offering a lot of vegetarian burgers. I ordered the lunch meal and had cheeseburger with French fries and a mango x peppermint drink.
Everything tasted delicious!
06 I attended the birthday party of teaspoon and candy.
She made delicious Indian curry with chickpeas, cauliflower and wild rice (auf Deutsch: Kichererbsen, Blumenkohl und Wildreis)
and a chocolate cake. There were two other guests, a very nice couple. We chatted and laughed a lot.
I did not take any pictures during the party, but you can see my outfit in the image collage above.
07 In the meantime, my boyfriends and his friends were at
Finest Spirits, a fair for whiskeys and other beverages like gin and rum.
The Finest Spirits whiskey fair is held yearly. Sellers of whiskey have stalls and you can try the whiskeys for a fee and buy bottles.
My friends had never been to this whiskey fair, so they wanted to try it. They liked the big selection of vendors,
but they would probably not go there again next year because a ticket costed 20 € and it was very crowded.
My boyfriend bought three whiskeys that you can see in the picture collage above: Glenfiddich - Unique Solera Reserve, Balvenie - Carribbean Cask and Slyrs
(made at the lake Schliersee in Germany ;)
08 My boyfriend a me backed muffins!
He made savory muffins with noodles, peas and ham and chocolate muffins,
I made lemon cupcakes with lemon cream and muffins with hazelnuts and oaks.
We used my
muffin cookbook
as inspiration, but varied the recipies a lot.
Next month, I want to make a
cake with yeast dough, custard creme and crumbles
(auf Deutsch: Hefe-Blechkuchen mit Vanillepudding und Streuseln).
I hope that it will taste similar to the cakes I ate as a child ;)
09 I continued my search for a new job in the area of Ulm and wrote more job applications.
I had one job interview, but the position was not really interesting (missing concept for the job training in the first weeks,
a lot of business trips, working at the customer's office and providing support by phone in the evenings and on weekends on some days...).
In the middle of January, a lot of head hunters contacted me over
Xing and
offered me jobs for the wrong city or jobs that did not really match my profile.
I told them about my desired fields of work and location, but normally they have nothing in that area because their customers
are in different cities...
This is one of the reasons why I actively search for jobs myself instead of relying on head hunters.
I will continue my search anyway because I really want to move away from the big and expensive city
to a smaller one and live with my boyfriend. (A long-distance relationshop with seeing each other only on the weekends
is really annoying after several years...)
