Me and Beth are getting ready for our trip out to South Dakota. We're leaving early Sunday morning, and arrive in Pierre in 7 1/2-8 1/2 hours depending on how many times we decide to stop. I'm hoping this year I will be able to see the buffalos up close.
I think we'll stop in Mitchell and see the stupid corn palace again, because it's so bad, I'd have to see how they could top it this year. And then spend some time in Chamberlain.
I enjoy the company of Beth's grandfather, he's a Man's Man. A Soldier during the Korean War, and a retired State Trooper, who still carries a pistol. I feel safe because, I'm in good with him.
He's one of the most intriguing people I have ever met. His history demands a book deal.
I enjoy talking to him and learning from him.
Eventually, Beth will peel me away from Eldon (Grandpa), and we will head out to Aberdeen, her birth-town. And see how it's changed for her.
Spend as much time there, and eventually return to Pierre, and possibly hit a bar and wind down.
