My computer was toast, a little after my last post. We picked up a new tower for a good price yesterday, and it blows away my last computer. I was going thru internet withdrawl, and damn I missed that iPod. Anyhow, I hope this Compaq does me better for the money. I spent 3 times than what I did for that eMachine. I think in the mean time, I'll be working on building my own computer. I hope by fall, I'll get everything in order, and put together something worthy of a near high-end gaming/application type pc, maybe by next spring I suppose to be realistic, I've got to replace a wheel bearing on my car, and finally grab the drivers side rocker panel moulding.
I recently had the water pump, and the upper intake manifold replaced. Cool thing is, I got the water pump free, and labor wasn't charged for the replacement. All it cost was just a bit over 300. I even got a free tune-up, and the engine flushed. She's running better than when I first got her. I'm going to call my mechanic probably next week to replace the wheel bearing, and she'll be running smooth as Boulevard Wheat with a lemon.
Work is the same, routine, but I don't mind it, I actually still enjoy my job. I make it to work 10-15 minutes on time, haven't called in "sick" yet for any reason, although I know most of my co-workers use the term "sick" loosely. Self inflicted sickness from the night before, or the ever so popular "24 hour" sickness tend to be common lately. If someone could tell me what the hell a 24 hour sickness is, maybe I'll understand better. When they have their day off, they aren't sick, just hungover. But when they call in for their shift, they've developed a 24 hour sickness. Maybe they're sick of work. Symptoms include being late, often pleading with another to cover their shift, and a switch from a somewhat normal personality, to a pitiful and sick sounding tone when they pick up the phone to talk to the boss to plead with him that they are sick, and need to go home, leaving the other co worker to work the majority of the shift by himself. I don't know what it is, but it's a sickness that occurs typically on thursday, friday and saturday. I haven't been affected by it, and I hope this mystery sickness will one day be defined someday to offer treatment to my co-worker, and other co-workers.
Anyway, just the same old, same old.
Me.
