AU RP. Apollo - Remy.

Jun 24, 2007 23:52

Set ten years on from the current timeline. Weymouth, Dorset. He lived alone now. He had done for almost a year now, all by himself in a small cottage just on the outskirts of Weymouth with views over the coast, just like he'd always wanted. He woke to the sea, and slept to the sea, and barely ever went out any more - not even for Order work. ( Read more... )

"Well, if you're gonna be related to purebloods..." Remy muttered, but the sentence was kept under his breath - purebloods had friends in high (and low) places, and what was it Albus had always said about being on your guard? Even the walls have eyes and ears. Or, more succintly, don't talk about subjects you knew you shouldn't be discussing in times where you could get killed for talking about them.

"I hope no-one saw you flying in." He snapped quickly, suddenly all too aware of the new title his house had - safehouse. A place for keeping traitors and spies whilst You Know Who towered over everyone. "You made sure of it, didn't you?"

"Of course I did," scoffed Apollo as he leaned back in his chair. "I am no fool."

Be seen indeed, he rolled his eyes at the thought. His magic had gotten stronger since he had to strike it out on his own and he was more than handy with a wand. Speaking of seeing... Apollo finally got a moment to observe Remy and was struck slightly at the older man's looks. Although scruffy, barrel-chested surfer blond lonely hearts weren't really his type, even Apollo had to appreciate Remy's chiseled features and soft, almost velvety looking brown eyes.

His lips twitched slightly. Perhaps this wasn't so bad.

Remy glanced at Apollo as the other man spoke and fidgeted slightly, realising that he was being examined and assessed. Fucking purebloods - they always put him so on edge, he couldn't stand it.

"What're you smirking at?" He asked brusquely and stood, shoving his chair backwards to go and make another cup of tea. When uncomfortable, or in doubt, make tea. That was Remy's motto. Outside, Pepper started barking to be let back in, and Cat sashayed through from the utility room, obviously thoroughly satisfied with his tea. With a sigh, Remy flicked his wand - the door opened and shut, and in barrelled Pepper, tail wagging all over the place in the tiny kitchen.

"Look," Remy frowned, flicking the kettle on and letting it begin to boil away. "I dunno who your partner was, and I dunno what Albus was thinking, sending you here, but I'm not some...replacement...for him. Her. Whoever. I don't do casual fucks any more." He turned, appraising Apollo for a moment, then shook his head. "And you ain't my type anyway. Got it?"

Brushing his hair out of his eyes, Apollo gave Remy a rather bored look, "At you, my dear fellow. And you needn't worry, you're not my type either, but unlike you, I can appreciate having a piece of Davidian-like living art slumping around me. Of course, I'd be enjoying it better if you shaved and stopped slouching, it gives you a bit of a belly."

He took a sip of his tea again and raked his eyes over Remy's figure again, "And you needn't be absurd. No one, especially someone like you, can usurp Adrian's place in my heart. Especially since I need to kill him," Apollo said this last part lazily, but his hazel eyes hardened, the yellow in his eyes turned flinty.

"I do not have a belly!" Remy snapped out - but there was definately straightening of the posture as he said it, and perhaps a mild defensive tightening of the abs, just to prove that fact. He rubbed at his cheek, frowning. He liked his beard. It was rugged and manly. Apollo didn't know a thing, obviously.

"Wait, wait, wait." Remy turned back from the kettle for a moment, puzzling this out. "You're in love with your cousin?" Wow. And he thought Danny's family had been off of their rockers! "And now you're out to kill him." Well, fuck. If he'd been entertaining the possibility that Albus had been at too many cockroach clusters when sending Apollo to him, that possibility was rapidly turning into a definate.

"Egyptian pharaohs have married their own siblings. Would you fault me for loving my cousin?" Apollo remarked with a bittersweet smile. "As for killing him, who do you think has disfigured me so that I'm in this fallen state?"

He leaned back in his chair, lounging elegantly as if he should be on the finest chaise lounge instead of a wooden kitchen chair. "And as for your 'belly', good posture improves it greatly," Apollo grinned as he noticed Remy suck it in. "Makes you look quite regal and less like some Neanderthal who'd club someone, drag them to some grudgy cave, and then proceed to mate with them."

Egyptian pharoahs? Good for them, three thousand years ago when they wanted to keep their bloodlines p- oh wait. Didn't that ring a bell? Funny that. "Well excuse me for being so...modernly muggle about the incest bit." Remy retorted, still never quite able to get used to the idea of 'keeping it in the family'. "Mum always used to steer me clear of homosexual blood related affairs." And at least she succeeded in half of that ambition.

The Gryffindor, however, was all spitting and snarling about Apollos decision on a 'Neandarthal' appearance - that did not go down well. Not in the slightest. Teeth gritted, voice most definately strained as he talked, and it was quite obvious to see that he was restraining himself from re-enacting Apollo's first action all over again. "Albus doesn't know you've made it here yet." The older man gritted out. "Let's keep it from staying that way, shall we?"

Apollo was clearly enjoying his new toy, much like baiting a lion in a cage. However, while Remy was probably as volatile, there was no cage around the older man, so Apollo decided to stop pulling the strings.

"I shall owl him later. Until then though, it would do you well to accept the bloody compliment. Or should I put it simply?" Apollo couldn't resist one last tug. "You are a good looking man, there is no need to nurse that wounded ego. If we are to live together, you ought to realize that this is how I compliment, perhaps it would do you well to accept it with grace."

"Yeah, well." Remy frowned, not used to this backhanded sort of appreciation - Danny always used to tell him straight out how handsome he was, and that suited him just fine. He was not used to playing guessing games about how the other man thought of him, and truthfully, not interested in them either.

"You're all right yourself. I guess." Added grudgingly - it had been so long since he'd flirted or had attention paid to him that he had all but forgotten how to take it. Shame - still young and energetic, Remy retained his good looks with ease, and had not become any less proud about keeping them either. Underneath comfortable surfer clothes lay a surfers body, and one that was very worth the wait.

"All right?" a slow, seductive smirk spread across Apollo's face as he put down his mug with a soft click on the table. "Alas, my dear fellow, if you opened yourself up to more of the things I had to offer, I daresay you would find me more than just 'all right.'"

One more time, Apollo looked over Remy's figure with a rakish eye and moved slightly his chair. He noticed the firm body underneath the baggy clothes and he knew Remy was most likely warm and brown from the sun.

"Just as I find you quite lovely and almost Spartan in your splendor," he said in a soft, husky tone.

The temptation tugged at him, really tugged - it had been so long since he'd had sex, and here was this handsome young man, telling him how attractive he was, how much he desired him. Remy faltered, almost impercebtibly leant towards Apollo. He wanted to be touched, he wanted to be desired - but there in Apollos place was Danny, brown eyes smiling, and Remy blanched, turning away.

"You must be tired from all that flying." He said, voice soft, and didn't dare look at Apollos face. "It's late. I'll owl Albus - he'll want to know you got here."

In one silent, swift movement, Apollo got up from the chair and stepped with his long legs over to where Remy had his back turned to him. A finger trailed down the dip in the middle of Remy's back as Apollo stepped closer, not enough to be touched, but enough that he could feel the heat of the other man and knew that Remy could sense him as well.

"Never easy to go to bed with ghosts," Apollo whispered, his breath lightly brushing against the back of Remy's neck in soft, warm puffs. "I know this too well myself. Shadows are just shadows, the bed is still empty and cold, there is no one there. Only a memory."

This time, it was Apollo who turned to get out of the kitchen.

The Gryffindor gasped quietly as Apollo spoke behind him, fingertips on his back, words breathed against his neck. Tiny hairs rose on the back of his neck, and fingertips clenched into the kitchen worktop. Every single nerve tingled with the feel of it, and the Gryffindor tried desperately to stop himself reacting to the feel of the other man, so close to him, so desirous of him.

He turned, wanting to say something, but Apollo was already gone, out of the kitchen, away to bed. Alone again - like always.

"I know it." He murmured, hands reaching out to scratch at Peppers ears as the dog came seeking attention all over again, soft and malleable and adoring after a long, tiring day. "Don't I know it."

It really didn't take long to find Remy's room which was comfortably minimal and tidy with blue, cream and white furnishing. The style didn't suit Apollo's tastes at all (although the photography on the walls intrigued him) and he sighed as he surveyed the area, but did light up to the fact that the bed was huge. He had already brushed his teeth and was already dressed in a pair of comfortable silk, chocolate brown pajamas (his one luxary, he had sent for it from a catalogue and had gotten royally scolded by Albus but got to keep them anyway).

He lay down on his side, manuvering his lean body comfortably into the mattress in a slightly enticing pose that also hid his stump of an arm. His pajama top was unbuttoned slightly and Remy would have clear view of him when he entered, but at the same time, what Apollo more than sex was companionship.

It would be nice not to have to spend another night alone.

The Gryffindor took a while to come upstairs, preferring to spend time by himself in the living room, settling back down after the upheaval that Apollo had brought. He came up, finally, about an hour later, stretching tiredness out of his limbs, and brushing blond hair out of his eyes.

The path to his bedroom door was automatic - but the sight that greeted him stopped him dead. "What??"

Remy blinked, several times, unable to quite comprehend what was going on. Was the other man insatiable or something?! "Your bed," He finally gritted out, "Is the other room. This is mine."

Remy stood aside, pointing out of the hallway, waiting for Apollo to get up and go past him. "Out."

"We don't HAVE to have sex," Apollo said quite clearly as he moved into a more comfortable position. There was an open, vulnerable expression on his face as he looked up at Remy. "...I just... I just don't want to be alone tonight."

Meekly, he added, "...I won't touch you. Not unless you want me to. But... I want to be near someone. I miss that."
