Set ten years on from the current timeline. Weymouth, Dorset. He lived alone now. He had done for almost a year now, all by himself in a small cottage just on the outskirts of Weymouth with views over the coast, just like he'd always wanted. He woke to the sea, and slept to the sea, and barely ever went out any more - not even for Order work.

"I hope no-one saw you flying in." He snapped quickly, suddenly all too aware of the new title his house had - safehouse. A place for keeping traitors and spies whilst You Know Who towered over everyone. "You made sure of it, didn't you?"

Be seen indeed, he rolled his eyes at the thought. His magic had gotten stronger since he had to strike it out on his own and he was more than handy with a wand. Speaking of seeing... Apollo finally got a moment to observe Remy and was struck slightly at the older man's looks. Although scruffy, barrel-chested surfer blond lonely hearts weren't really his type, even Apollo had to appreciate Remy's chiseled features and soft, almost velvety looking brown eyes.
His lips twitched slightly. Perhaps this wasn't so bad.

"What're you smirking at?" He asked brusquely and stood, shoving his chair backwards to go and make another cup of tea. When uncomfortable, or in doubt, make tea. That was Remy's motto. Outside, Pepper started barking to be let back in, and Cat sashayed through from the utility room, obviously thoroughly satisfied with his tea. With a sigh, Remy flicked his wand - the door opened and shut, and in barrelled Pepper, tail wagging all over the place in the tiny kitchen.
"Look," Remy frowned, flicking the kettle on and letting it begin to boil away. "I dunno who your partner was, and I dunno what Albus was thinking, sending you here, but I'm not some...replacement...for him. Her. Whoever. I don't do casual fucks any more." He turned, appraising Apollo for a moment, then shook his head. "And you ain't my type anyway. Got it?"

He took a sip of his tea again and raked his eyes over Remy's figure again, "And you needn't be absurd. No one, especially someone like you, can usurp Adrian's place in my heart. Especially since I need to kill him," Apollo said this last part lazily, but his hazel eyes hardened, the yellow in his eyes turned flinty.

"Wait, wait, wait." Remy turned back from the kettle for a moment, puzzling this out. "You're in love with your cousin?" Wow. And he thought Danny's family had been off of their rockers! "And now you're out to kill him." Well, fuck. If he'd been entertaining the possibility that Albus had been at too many cockroach clusters when sending Apollo to him, that possibility was rapidly turning into a definate.

He leaned back in his chair, lounging elegantly as if he should be on the finest chaise lounge instead of a wooden kitchen chair. "And as for your 'belly', good posture improves it greatly," Apollo grinned as he noticed Remy suck it in. "Makes you look quite regal and less like some Neanderthal who'd club someone, drag them to some grudgy cave, and then proceed to mate with them."

The Gryffindor, however, was all spitting and snarling about Apollos decision on a 'Neandarthal' appearance - that did not go down well. Not in the slightest. Teeth gritted, voice most definately strained as he talked, and it was quite obvious to see that he was restraining himself from re-enacting Apollo's first action all over again. "Albus doesn't know you've made it here yet." The older man gritted out. "Let's keep it from staying that way, shall we?"

"I shall owl him later. Until then though, it would do you well to accept the bloody compliment. Or should I put it simply?" Apollo couldn't resist one last tug. "You are a good looking man, there is no need to nurse that wounded ego. If we are to live together, you ought to realize that this is how I compliment, perhaps it would do you well to accept it with grace."

"You're all right yourself. I guess." Added grudgingly - it had been so long since he'd flirted or had attention paid to him that he had all but forgotten how to take it. Shame - still young and energetic, Remy retained his good looks with ease, and had not become any less proud about keeping them either. Underneath comfortable surfer clothes lay a surfers body, and one that was very worth the wait.

One more time, Apollo looked over Remy's figure with a rakish eye and moved slightly his chair. He noticed the firm body underneath the baggy clothes and he knew Remy was most likely warm and brown from the sun.
"Just as I find you quite lovely and almost Spartan in your splendor," he said in a soft, husky tone.

"You must be tired from all that flying." He said, voice soft, and didn't dare look at Apollos face. "It's late. I'll owl Albus - he'll want to know you got here."

"Never easy to go to bed with ghosts," Apollo whispered, his breath lightly brushing against the back of Remy's neck in soft, warm puffs. "I know this too well myself. Shadows are just shadows, the bed is still empty and cold, there is no one there. Only a memory."
This time, it was Apollo who turned to get out of the kitchen.

He turned, wanting to say something, but Apollo was already gone, out of the kitchen, away to bed. Alone again - like always.
"I know it." He murmured, hands reaching out to scratch at Peppers ears as the dog came seeking attention all over again, soft and malleable and adoring after a long, tiring day. "Don't I know it."

He lay down on his side, manuvering his lean body comfortably into the mattress in a slightly enticing pose that also hid his stump of an arm. His pajama top was unbuttoned slightly and Remy would have clear view of him when he entered, but at the same time, what Apollo more than sex was companionship.
It would be nice not to have to spend another night alone.

The path to his bedroom door was automatic - but the sight that greeted him stopped him dead. "What??"
Remy blinked, several times, unable to quite comprehend what was going on. Was the other man insatiable or something?! "Your bed," He finally gritted out, "Is the other room. This is mine."
Remy stood aside, pointing out of the hallway, waiting for Apollo to get up and go past him. "Out."

Meekly, he added, "...I won't touch you. Not unless you want me to. But... I want to be near someone. I miss that."
