Book Reading Meme

1. Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack?
Sometimes, if I am reading in the car or at work i will usually be eating lunch or a snack. No real favorite snack, depends on the lunch.
2. What is your favorite drink while reading?
Coffee or tea
3. Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
Only school books and then very rarely and very grudgingly. I hate marking up books.
4. How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ear? Laying the book flat open?
Bookmark and by that I mean train ticket, poker card, ticket stub, baseball card, piece of paper, pictures and in the rare case that I can remember where I put them- a bookmark proper.
5. Fiction, Non-Fiction, or Both?
Both but since I do so much reading for school I tend to read a lot more non-fiction.
6. Are you a person who tends to read to the end of a chapter, or can you stop anywhere?
I prefer to go to the end of a chapter, but can stop anywhere.
7. Are you a person to throw a book across the room or on the floor if the author irritates you?
No, I have slammed books down and I have picked them up to toss but I treat books very well. I think it comes from not having any growing up and treating them with care now.
8. If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop and look it up right away?
I can usually figure it out from context. If I have to I will ask someone to pronounce it for me and then look it up.
9. What are you currently reading?
Trust me- it's not that interesting. It is a book on historical methodology.
10. What is the last book you bought?
My school books. I have been trying not to buy any books because we are trying to get rid of our debt.
11. Are you a person that reads one book at a time, or can you read more than one?
I usually have at least two going. I have the school book and then I have a car book for when I am at work or picking up Da Hubby.
12. Do you have a favorite time/place to read?
In bed or on the couch. I will also read in the car or a waiting room and while exercising. I hate not having something to read or watch when I am working out. Recumbent bikes make it real easy to do this.
13. Do you prefer series books or stand-alones?
Depends on the book. I have the entire HP series and I had most of the Left Behind books but usually I will buy stand-alones. I think I like books about a character more than a series of books. For instance I have a lot of Buffy and Angel books but there are only two series of books in that category.
14. Is there a specific book or author you find yourself recommending over and over?
Well, she is a comic writer but if Gail Simone ever wrote a book I would go and get it Bali Bali.
15. How do you organize your books? By genre, title, author's last name, etc?
I organize by genre and then size. Right now sadly my books are kind of stacked in the bookcases and china cabinet because we just don't have the space.
