The Swan Speaks Seven Times
So many noises and colors outside... I remember seeing them in the books at school.
There was a squirrel that came into our class today. It kept weaving between the desks, like it was looking for something. I wondered if it was hungry. The textbook said squirrels eat nuts and berries. I don't think we have any of those growing here in Romdeau. Maybe there is some in the markets for sale?
Rue said she saw ducks, geese and a swan walking through the mall. Even some kind of black birds followed her home. The books said they were either crows or ravens.
Ravens... I remember seeing something like those in my dreams before. I wonder why they were following her. Are they dangerous?
Why are there so many animals in the city so suddenly? It didn't used to be this way.
