Course Syllabus
A beginning introduction to magic and the theories behind it. A student need not have prior experience with magic to take this course, as it will give a broad overview of what anyone needs to know to deal with a magical environment, such as magical energy, the elements, karma, divination, parapsychology, dream analysis, and magical dos and don'ts. Practical magic use will not be required, and aside from the midterm and final project (either a quiz or an essay), the entire course will be based on group activity and discussion.

Week 3 - Magical Energy - Grounding, Centering, & Shielding
Week 4 - Spellcasting - Principles of Sympathy & Contagion
Week 5 - Why Curses Are Bad (i.e., Spells, Threefold Law & Karma)
Week 6 - Magical Symbology (Protective Symbols, Other Symbols)
Week 7 - Midterm Review Session & Quiz
Week 8 - Dream Analysis
Week 9 - Parapsychology (Zener Cards)
Week 10 - Divination - Tarot & Runes
Week 11 - Auras & Interpreting Them
Week 12 - History of Magic, Magical Traditions Across The World
Week 13 - Magical Items - Artifacts, Talismans, & Fetishes
Week 14 - Final Project: Practical Demonstration - Students are to be paired up and give a presentation on one of the topics covered in class. They are allowed to give a practical demonstration if they so wish, but it is not required.
