Did the earth move for you too???

Biggest excitement in town for ages

It was amazing, the house shook for about 2 minutes, windows rattling and pictures falling off walls. Luckily, the entire house did not collapse like a stack of cards, which, given the state of the place, was possible.

Amusingly, my workmate, who was at work at the time, didn't notice it.
I was lying in bed trying to talk myself into getting out of bed.
As was Callan, who called out half way through "Malika, stop shaking my bed"
Malika "It's an earthquake"
Callan "Yeah, sure"

Then, 2 days later

Big excitement, not earth shaking, but still ........

I won first prize in a raffle -$50 worth of scratchies, which, after much scratching, turned into just shy of $50 real dollars, which is, as they say, better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick.

This is cool, cos The Father rang wanting to take the kids out to a lake tomorrow, Callan didn't want to go, but agreed so as to seem "polite", and Malika is going cos Cal is, but is not happy about Theresa and PJ going too.
So, yup, I have no kids, and a few spare bucks, so I'm going to treat myself to a couple, or a few coldies and have a total veg in front of the dvd afternoon. Or, a mellow doze on the trampoline in the sun.
'Specially cos I'm working fulltime for a couple of weeks, so, lots of money, so I can afford to be frivilous - somewhat.

So to today, the dad is an hour late, and neither kid wants to go.
So much for my weekend
