Happiest of birthdays to fox1013. She is young, but one of my oldest online friends. She is everyone's Little Joey Potter. I was going to do all of these in the order requested, but Foxlet gets special dispensation.

Kermit sits next to Gonzo, staring up at the night sky. There are a million and fifty two things that could be on Gonzo’s mind, and Kermit is never quite sure if he wants to guess or just let things play out. It’s winter though, so it’s cold out there for a frog, but he’s got a scarf that Ernie knit for him, and a hat that’s made of feathers Big Bird collected from all his bird friends.
“It’s amazing, isn’t it, Kermit?”
“Yeah.” Kermit nods. He’s still not sure what Gonzo’s talking about, but he’s staring up at the stars all blinking and flashing and millions of light years away, and that in itself is pretty amazing. Kermit likes to think life is made up of everything amazing every day.
“I wish I could do and be everything.”
“Why can’t you?”
Gonzo doesn’t say anything for a long time, and Kermit turns to glance at him, to see if he’s still with him or off somewhere in his own world. He’s still staring at the sky. Maybe missing his family off somewhere in space. “Some things are mutually exclusive.”
Kermit nods. “I suppose that’s true, but human beings are bundles of contradictions. I think Gonzo-type beings could be too.”
Gonzo nods and sits up straight, turning to smile at Kermit. “You’re a pretty smart frog, Kermit.”
“Thank you, Gonzo.” He stands up, shivering a little in the cold. “Don’t stay out all night. We’re going to have hot chocolate and popcorn.”
Gonzo nods and grins out at the world. “I’ll be in in just a minute.”
