Today is a day of reflection for many of us in the US, as well as around the world. I remember my husband calling me and I remember spending the day at home on IM, waiting for friends in DC and NY to check in. It reminds me of the paceyporn girls, since we were all there together, worried and wondering like everyone else. It's interesting to me that, for the most part, those people are gone from my life and yet, that day, they were a lifeline. Things change, people change, priorities change, fandoms change. It's not a bad thing, but it's what I reflect on today, not having anyone directly involved in the tragedy. Of course, I mourn the lives lost and I celebrate the bravery of so many, but we are all selfish in our nature, so the personal is what remains with me.

I could also go off on a baseball rant about how the Mariners were amazing that year with 216 wins and ready to win the championship when their streak was broken by the 9/11 events, but that seems petty, so I won't. Still. My Mariners were awesome in 2001.

Anyway, this makes today, of all days, a good one to say that though I may not know many of you well and some of you not at all, you all matter - because you read, because you write, because you blog. I look at your names on my flist sometimes and wonder who you are and what you do. There are some of you I know better and some of you I know well, and you all matter, and you all matter to me. So thanks to all of you, for being a part of my life in the big and small ways that you are. You never know when you won't have another chance, so I take this one to say it.

Thanks, you guys, for making my internets a nice place to be. Also, fear not, there's porn coming soon.
