Having read through the archives all at least twice, I now save and cherish any new H/A fic you produce for a time when I need it. And tonight I needed it, and it did everything that I needed it to do. I no longer am quite so annoyed by the utter stupidity of my internet and phone service provider - such mundane trifles seem so pale and wan in comparison to the sweet achingness of your Archie and Horatio. I love most everything you write, but I love them oh so best of all.
Thank you. :)

It's always wonderful to know that people enjoy my stuff, but even better to know that reading it can help better things. I'm sorry your day was in need of improving, but glad I could do my little part to help!

I also enjoyed the bleak opening, as well as:
the rocking motion not frantic enough, not desperate enough to keep up with the racing beat of Horatio’s heart
passages that mean nothing to him and everything to the man at his side. He searches for inflection beyond the thickness of despair that seems to clog his throat, but cannot find anything, so he reads in the softest of voices, praying silently to whomever might listen that Archie can hear beyond what Hornblower can manage to say, as he always has.
as open and honest as they’ve ever been at sea, no fear in a room of dead men.
Thanks for writing!
