Lance's birthday was somewhat uneventful, not to say that it wasn't a lot of fun. Jeff and I met up with Versace and Lance at the Pink Galleon to watch the Cardinal's game and to play some games of our own. The Pink Galleon's biggest draw is its bar games. Free darts, half priced pool, foosball, and my favorite electronic shuffleboard, lovingly referred to as just shuffle. Over the next three hours we played games (darts and shuffle), drank several pitchers (8 I think) and acted like nerds playing games and drinking pitchers. Versace didn't want to make a night out of it, so he headed home while Jeff, Lance and I went back to Lance's house (well, after he realized that in his dunken-ness he took us to the wrong house first) and drank more beers and played both cards and FIFA World Cup 2006. It was a very fun time, although somewhat identical to what we already do most weekend nights. Lance's new house is very nice and will look even nicer once he gets some furniture.
I went to bed before the boys did, so I was very surprised to see my brother poke his head into the bedroom around 11. "I'm dying, " he says. "Need food." Apparently the boys stayed up until six a.m. again playing FIFA (which was worth it because the did hoist a cup). We get to the car through the hangover compounding heat and drive. We get food we go to my apartment, we watch the end of the hot dog eating championships and then Jeff goes home. He calls three hours later. "I'm bored," he says. "Need company." Jeff comes over and we start debating about what to do. Movies? Six Feet Under? Darts and Drinking? Wii tennis tournament? I say there is a new HBO show that I want to give a watch. Jeff hesitates but gives in. I turn on Flight of the Conchords and within the credits we are laughing, no giggling, like children. We then watched all three of the episodes that have aired so far. Twice. Six hours later, we go to the store, buy food for dinner, grill out and google everything we can about this miraculous show. I cannot explain how hilarious, I cannot attempt to explain the comedic heights! What I can say is that everyone should give this show a watch. I know that the characters aren't charismatic, I know that americans can't seem to handle actors with accents, flip off! It is excellent, and it is the highlight of my Fourth of July.
Oh yeah, and Jeff and I went to go see 1408 last night. Eh. Its no FOTCC.
