Previously Played Info
Previous Game: ”polychromatic”
Length of Time There: I honestly don’t remember, but it was almost a year, at least. I’ve always been bad with chronology. It was a long time, though. It was also a long time ago, though I’ve kept up with her through various dressing rooms in the meantime.
RP History: It was a good run while it lasted. For a little while, Harley shacked up with the resident Joker there, until I realized I’m about as talented at being outright evil as Harley herself is, which is to say I was bad at it I realized how little outside contact she was managing to get while stuck in a warehouse with him she was talked out of it by other characters. Steph/Spoiler took to her quicker than her other canon mates, and eventually she got to be pretty good friends with her and, to a lesser extent, Supergirl and Nolanverse!Alfred. I think she even befriended Smallville!Kal-El/Superman, but it never developed too much. Most notably, though, was when we had a Catwoman, a Scarecrow, and a Riddler all at the same time. That was the peak, and it never felt the same after they left. Even if it’s just snarky dialogue, it was fun having fellow Gotham villains around, former or otherwise. Particularly since Harley almost ended up being the nagging mother figure for Jon and Eddie, who lived together like bickering housewives.

Game Specific Info
Why do you want to play this character here? I’ve been playing Harley for a long time now, and I’ve longed for a chance to play her in a more native environment like Gotham. She’s an incredibly fun character to write for, but canonmates are few and far between. Or, if there’s canonmates, a game already has a Harley. Since this one was sorely lacking her unique charm, I thought it would be an opportune chance to play her where she’s most at home. I’m hoping I can use this opportunity to more deeply explore her character, too. It’s always been hard to develop her properly outside of a properly hostile environment like Gotham, after all.
Why do you believe this character fits into this game’s setting? She LIVES there, for starters. Judging by the Taken list, this game’s sorely lacking in Gotham’s patented brand of crazy. Yes, my Harley’s relatively sane, but this is relative by Gotham standards so it still counts. Like everyone else who’s ever been through Arkham, Harley has a history with Gotham that’s intrinsic to her character. Why the hell else would she live in a city where almost everyone always seems to want her dead?
What are your plans for your character in this game? I really want to get the chance to play Harley in her natural environment, where her personality can flourish most. Since I’m trying to play Harley sans Joker’s influence, it’s been particularly hard to do without other Batman folks. Particularly, I’d like to play her opposite an Ivy to develop that friendship a little more, since I’ve always been fond of the dynamic they share together. They both have awesome personalities that I’d like to delve into, but mostly I’d just like to explore Harley’s relationships with her fellow Gothamites in general. Outside of that, I’d like to work on the muse overall; I’ve got a good feel for her voice, I just want to work on getting a better hold of how she acts in different situations.

“WEEEEE~!”

Harley zoomed past dazed pedestrians on her new roller blades, her yellow pigtails floating behind her like streamers on bike handles. It was as beautiful a day in Gotham as a person could ever expect; meaning, of course that the sky was a lighter shade of red than usual. She skidded to a stop in front of a toy store and pressed her face against the glass. There was some new items on display today, and being in a generous mood today, Harley decided some gifts for her buddies Selina and Ivy were in order. She perused the shelves carefully, looking for something just right…

A few minutes later, Harley wheeled up to the counter amidst the stares of a few giggling children and a few adults with disdainful expressions. The clerk was somewhat bemused, too, but they took her purchases all the same. She’d gotten Ivy a cute stuffed houseplant, made of 100% animal cotton, and Selina a big fishing pole with a furball on the end spotted with feathers. Perfect, right? She thought so! Of course, she got herself a novelty jester cap, a two-pronged deal that fit around her pigtails neatly enough without looking too much like her cowl. Once everything was paid for, Harley rolled out and back into the streets, and… into a wandering group of hoodlums. The blonde tumbled back to the ground with a yelp. Her new hat fell over her eyes in the process.

“Hey! Watch where you’re goin’, ya lumps! What’s the big idea, anyway, standin’ in the middle of th-… Eh… Heh.” As she pushed the hat out of her eyes, Harley grimaced. Oh. There were more of them than she’d seen. Well, that certainly put a damper on her intent to beat the stuffing out of them. As the thugs loomed over her, she carefully pulled out the gifts she’d bought, leaving in the other item she’d bought inside the bag. “Hey, fellas, c’mon, we can talk this out, right? If things got rough it’d just be a headache for everyone. You in particular, bright eyes.” They weren’t taking the hint. “Well, don’t say I didn’t warn ya!” She slung the bag and the brick it held into the head of the nearest goon, and scrambled to her feet while he and the rest were confused. The woman laughed as she sped away, “Might wanna get that looked at, by the way~! You ain’t got enough brain cells to spare!”

Journal Entry/First Person Sample:
Hm? Huh, that was weird. Kinda like déjà vu or somethin’. Still, them cell phone companies sure are getting’ sneaky these days. Didn’t even see ‘em gimme this thing. Sure is nice for a scam model, though, ain’t it?

[Harley toys around with her new phone, figuring out how to take pictures of herself Myspace style, how to text, etc. Stuff she already knew, just adjusting to a new phone.]

Might as well hang onto it. I sure ain’t the kinda gal to pass up free toys~! I was thinkin’ about upgrading anyway.

… What was I doin’ again? Oh yeah, job huntin’. I spend any more days in there doin’ crosswords and I’m gonna go nuts all over again. Hey, maybe I oughta try the love column racket again! Ha!
