So how's this for awesome? We have a substation just down the road. It went down last night, around midnight, midnight-thirty. Scowl, scowl, mutter, mutter, go down to denny's for some food. We get back around 2.15, having taken our sweet time by driving around seeing how far was out. When we get back, everywhere BUT OUR APARTMENT has power. So we drive back down to the substation, where Chugach is packing up. "Everywhere but our apartment has power," we tell them. "We'll check it out," they tells us. So we go back home. Fast forward fifteen minutes, Chugach pulls up, hops out, inspects the main breaker. "You've got a blown fuse," the tells us. "Owner's on his way."
Fast forward two hours. Power's finally, FINALLY back up, and I still haven't gotten to sleep.
There's something eerily different between the sounds of a house that is shut down for the night, and the sound of a house with no power.
