Color and Design assignments done in gouache.

So, I already showed you the color roughs for my perspective assignment, so this time I'll show you the final version.

I also have my Mandala project as promised. I chose to do it of Ben sleeping. I also had some other designs sketched. The whole process is revealed under the cut!

This first concept sketch was actually inspired by the Fire Eye'd Boy music video from Broken Social Scene. It's one of my favorite songs.

This one is of Ben smoking. I don't think it'd be a popular concept if I didn't add some death element. Otherwise people would be all like "Smoking is bad!" which it is but...

I had a couple of other ones, but I'm too lazy to scan them. I chose to do a completely different one that is a sleep theme. I chose Ben to play that role. The whole thing took really three steps.

This is the line drawing.

The color roughs. the left was actually done second and I liked the color scheme so I went with that. But I like the contrast in the moon in the second a bit better.

On another note, it's almost Christmas and the semester is almost over! I'm flying home on the 19th (Friday), earlier than what I've planed (Sunday). I'm really excited and overjoyed. It's been the most amazing year of my life!

My roommate bought some lights, in the spirit of Christmas, and put it around the kitchen entry-way thing! I didn't do anything except help choose and tell her to move this here and there (despite being taller, haha). I did put up the star. ;D

Anyway, it's going to be dismantled when everyone has to go home but it's quite pretty. Too bad it can't be up all year long!
