(no subject)
I haven't updated in a really long time. There isn't a lot of interesting things going on in my life really. I got sick recently because I got too stressed out about stuff. *_*
I finally bought a copy of Crown Royale and JAB drew this on the back:
OMG. This is the most perfect Oscar ever. This is the Oscar that dreams are made of. Many people tell me they have trouble drawing Oscar, especially his hair but JAB did such a good job. So spot-on. This is like the Oscar of my visions that I am unable to draw because I lack drawing skillz. People draw my characters even better than I do. I think I should just give up. orz
Crown Royale, BTW, is really worth a read. A lot of standout comic artists! I never got a chance to read JAB's or Wensleysdale's & K. Sheldon comics before and was really impressed with their work. The site says that the book is sold out, but there are copies without the slipcover that will be for sale at AX. If you there, please purchase a copy!
Working on collages recently! Actually I don't know what I'm doing (direction-wise - like how do these collages hold together??). I wonder how many books I should print of this... I was thinking 200 at first so that it would be cheaper to do the Riso prints and colour pages, but I honestly don't think I can move 200 copies of this thing... I usually run 100, but I do that for my comics too, and then I find out I have to reprint. It would be a hassle to reprint this since I'm planning B&W on colour paper, Risograph, colour pages... then there is the issue of binding. Not sure what I am going to do yet! Wouldn't it be great if I could somehow manage to do this perfect bound?! *makes plans* I guess I will only do 100 books. If it becomes out of print, so be it... Who is going to buy this anyway? D: D:<
Most of the collages are using materials that are not my drawings but still from things that I gather (usually around 75-80% of materials are from photos I take), but I decided to try something different with my own drawings. I'm not sure if it works. I think I may need to add some more elements before it can be completely finished.
Anyway, clips of said collages I worked on today.
I am slowly getting better at inking using brush pen.
Anyway, after taking it easy since I was sick since Saturday evening (-_-), I need to get back to my school work. I wonder when I can finish this collage book?

I went to a convention and someone cosplayed as Toothless. !!
It was really amazing. *_* The wings could move too. *A*;
The convention was pretty stupid though.
I'm never going to any conventions ever again.
The only good thing was picking up this book from Little Thunder:
It was translated from Chinese to French. I wish her work was available in English as well! It is so vibrant! The colouring is so amazing. It has inspired me to try and draw a comic in all colour as well.
On the other hand, I also feel that her stuff is so amazing and everyone else's art is better than me so I should just give up. *sob* Why do I even bother?! >_<;
OH BTW, Fort 90 is running a fanart contest for Grasshopper games. He asked me to post about the contest where I can. Please check it out! Great prizes and you may get your work featured in his videogame zine as well. :3
