Author Sign-ups

Author sign-ups are now OPEN!

If you're interested in signing up as an author, please read over the following guidelines and sign up below!

• The minimum length requirement for this bang is 15,000 words. There is no maximum limit.
• You may sign up to write with a co-author or group. Each of you must sign up separately and indicate who your co-author/group members are in the form. If you sign up with a co-author or group, the minimum word count is still 15,000 words, regardless of how many group members there are.
• You may sign up for a total of two fics. This includes fics that are co-authored or group-authored. If you want to write more than one fic, you must sign up separately for each fic.
• All fic written for this challenge must be beta-read. If you don’t have a beta, you can check out our beta masterlist to see if anyone fits your needs.
• Whatever you write for this challenge must be new. This means that it cannot have already been posted in part or in its entirety anywhere else. However, if you want to write a fic in the same series as something else you have already written or dust off any old unposted wips, feel free to do so!
• Please do not post your fic anywhere before your assigned posting day. On your assigned posting day, you may post your fic anywhere you like - livejournal, archive of our own, tumblr, etc. - and one member from each author/artist collaboration will post a link to both the tumblr page and livejournal community. More details will be released closer to posting.
• There will be three check-ins for authors. These are meant to be benchmarks for authors to gauge their progress relative to the timeline. The first two check-ins are optional, but there will be a mandatory check-in on August 16 that authors must complete if they wish to continue on in the challenge. Nothing needs to be turned in on the check-ins and there is no minimum progress authors need to have made - just a report of continued intent to participate. More details will be released as check-ins happen.
• Rough drafts will be due on September 3. Authors will submit a document (Word, rtf, Google docs, etc.) with their fic. Fics must be at least 80% complete with a beginning, middle, and end - if not fully written out, then at least outlined. It does not have to be beta-read at this point. More details will be released closer to the due date.
• If you intend to drop out, you must do so using the appropriate Google form before the rough draft deadline. If you drop out after this, you will be banned from participating in future challenges we host, should we do so, as we would like to avoid leaving artists without authors.
