i confess that i stopped listening after grassroots when they pussied out and got too soft and sang too much. it didn't seem like martinez was as vivacious and in the forefront as he used to be.

in fact, the newest album stands out in that SA sings lead on 4 songs. yes, sings, not raps, but as an old school SA fan, i like to see him stepping up to the mic.

i know. you're right. with this band, it's like a calf i birthed many years ago...i may not agree--and generally don't--with the direction it takes, but goddamnit, it's still my hefer!

i liked SA when he rapped more and hopped about. now they're all sentimental and Hexum's singing TOO MUCH lately and he only knows about three notes
