Things just aren't looking up

I understand that this comm's been asleep for a while, I mean...the Romanian team is more prone to provoke a rather extreme tendency to headdesk and cry instead of bringing any joy but hey.
They still need some love.
Now that Mutu's fail has taken him out of the picture for a while, there must at least be more room in front of the locker mirrors for the other lads. And less diva fits?
Cristi has won the CL last week, as we all know, and I only actually watched the CL final for him (and mildly for Jose...ok, so I might have ended up actually writing Cristi/Jose, wtf...anyway!) and I was all teary-eyed to see him win it, after everything he's gone through.
Now he's focusing on being the captain of the Nationala. But the Romanian NT is not that easy to put up with. And our Cristi is more pissed off with this team (even though he's had more than one outburst in the past)than I've ever seen him before. He called a lot of things by their name in a press conference that took place before the Ukraine-Romania friendly that happened this evening.
A few excerpts:
"We've got no value, that's why we (this generation of the NT) never qualify for the World Cup! We have to work and be united...the value of the team is given by the value of the players who work for the team. It doesn't mean anything if some of them, me included, win European leagues and such because value is given by all the players, not just by one."
At the end of the press conference, the player made another shocking statement: "I will go on silenzio stampa for a year. If they don't like it, they can take my captain's armband away.
Of course Rat got all pissy in reply to this and said that we just have bad luck and it's no one's fault (this excuse got old a while ago, Razvanbb).
And we played that friendly with Ukraine tonight.
And we lost to them.
For the first time in ages or in history.
We could've had a draw if Tamas wouldn't have lost himself upon receving the blessing of Shevchenko's closeness, but no, there had to be an own goal.
So yeah. I've been back in Romania for a month and a half now and this is my reward...
But I am preparing a Cristi picspam. For strength.
