ARGH. NO assistant NO how.
As far as Dragon NaturallySpeaking, a bigger piece of crap I have never seen. What's the point? I can spell, type around 140 wpm (fast enough that most word processors do that hoppity skip thing where they jump lines and you find yourself typing in the wrong paragraph.....I can read my own books into my own recorder and type them faster than DNS....MAN THAT HUMMER IS SLOW. Plus, why should I take the time to teach the system VOCABULARY??? So it can spell......so can Carol J's horse! (well it could if she wanted to teach it; that's one sharp lady (an aside everybody pray for dry weather her hay is in the field flat and needs drying!!!)) I can spell too. I get 100 on every spelling test I take. Writing a novel involves a lot of note taking so I went out and bought twenty legal pads (best to write on) and ten new bold gel pens (best to write with) and am going back to square one.....This program is great if you don't have a lot to say and maybe it will go faster as it learns, but I do not have the patience to teach something NOT as smart as a fifth grader.....I didn't have kids because I have no patience and am ALWAYS in high gear unless I'm flat with depression. In other words, writing a novel takes time, not an assistant or secretary unless you want her to edit up the works--that's what EDITORS are for. SHeesh.
I can't believe I let Jess talk me into THIS one. Yes you did, Jess, Oh yes you did...you're so smart and savvy I was convinced this was what I had to have.....not my fault you're so damn convincing! Course it's not YOUR fault the piece of feces doesn't work for a person who thnks on their fingertips either. It's not like I write like Nora Roberts...now for HER it might work since all her stuff is the same just different names and slightly different plots.
