Bitin!

Headed over to Fort earlier today to watch - what else? - the Eraserheads reunion concert.  Joy and I were freaking on the way there because it was raining heavily in the Fairview/Diliman area, but surprisingly, the skies were clear and the ground was dry at Fort.

We were there around 5:30, went in, got stamped, went back out.  (Which reminds me, I gotta take the ticket stub out of my jeans pocket to go into the scrapbook file.)  I got a copy of the latest Discworld novel, Making Money, and chivvied Joy into getting a copy of Miles Errant.

(Joy, I just checked online, and the next book really is Miles in Love!  Because Miles, Mutants, and Microbes contains the last book, a prequel set 200 years in the past and not relevant to the current storyline, and one short story that isn't critical either.  So you should've bought it!  Told you so!)

Went back in and waited.  And waited.  And waited.  Because we were there way early to make sure I found a parking space.

And then the concert started.  And it was everything we expected it to be.  They started with Alapaap and played 14 more songs (Joy noted down the exact playlist) before the intermission.

And then the sad part happened.  During the intermission, Ely Buendia had to be rushed to the hospital due to poor health - perfectly understandable considering his triple bypass last year, and his mom's death a few days ago. So the second half of the concert was canceled.

Overall, it was still a great concert, and 15 songs is definitely not bad.  If they had originally planned to just play 15 songs, I would've been perfectly content.  As it is, the downside was just that the evening did not end on a high note because of the circumstances.

We had a late dinner at Zao and hung out a bit with Paul.  Decided not to go to any after-concert parties, as Joy's and my energy levels were depleted, with the waiting and the crowds and the way that the concert ended.

We hope Ely's okay, and while we're on that, here's hoping there will be another reunion concert (and perhaps discounted tickets for those who watched this one?) so we can hear them play Pare Ko, Minsan, Huling El Bimbo, Magasin... and the rest of the songs that (we assume) were part of the second half of the show.
