Remus watched from the shadows as she hung a colored glass bauble on her Christmas tree. He wished for the thousandth time that he hadn’t turned her away.
“I never told you I loved you,” Remus whispered, staring at the love of his life as she decorated her Christmas tree.
Pain clutched his heart when Charlie Weasley entered the room, kissing her. “I love you, Tonks,” he whispered as Charlie rubbed her swollen belly gently.
Turning away, he walked down the snow-covered street. How different life might have been if he’d only let her in when she’d offered her love.
