I've never heard of a kissing gate before, so thank you for using it in a drabble. I like the idea of George and Angelina for all sorts of reasons, and I like the way you used them here.
Thanks, glad you liked it! I'd never heard of a kissing gate until I moved to Northern Ireland last year either. They're designed so livestock can't get through them...they're a bit hard to describe other than that! :)
You're in Northern Ireland? How beautiful. Being in the megalopolis of Los Angeles, I'm quite envious of your fresh air and green countryside (at least that's what I envision.)
I now know exactly what you're referring to, and I remember gates like this from when I was a girl and lived in Norway.
Wish I still was, but I've since gone to England. My husband and I move around a lot for university. And I'm so nostalgic for it that envision fresh air and green countryside now too (it is amazingly green in Ireland, though, I never did get over that). Me, now, I have a very romantic vision of Norway; it must have been a beautiful place to grow up in!
Much of England is still green and beautiful, but I would imagine it doesn't quite compare to Ireland. Norway was gorgeous and a little wild and rustic -- but even I remember how cold it could get in winter. It's been many long years since we've moved back to the states, but I get nostalgic for the fjords and farms.
