Severus stirred carefully. He’d never made this before. He’d even had to steal some of the ingredients. But the mixture was behaving as it should.
Surely, as soon as Lily tasted it.... This was supposed to be a potent, ancient magic. If he got it exactly right, he might finally see a feeling in those emerald eyes he had been hoping to see for years.
With sweat gathering on his brow, he poured the fragrant stuff from the cauldron. As soon as it cooled, he could cut it in precise pieces and wrap up her Christmas gift of homemade fudge.
