I love that Lucius, the hardened Death Eater, was spending the war worrying about his wife! I really like how you made the war less important than the relationship between husband and wife.

Now, as for Dobby, he was probably ironing his ears, so do be kind to him! ;-D

Lovely story, as usual!

So, you're on board with my 'Death Eaters Are People Too' campaign? *pokes fun* Lucius may be a nasty Dark Wizard, but I'm sure he loves his family. So, Draco's compartmentalising skills may have been learned at home.

The house-elf is another situation entirely...

Thanks so much for reading and leaving such a kind comment, sophierom.

Bad Dobby!

An intriguing glimpse onto the other side during the 1970's. I love the concept of recruiting and giving rousing blood-supremacy lectures.

But he's a family man first, and I'm hoping to see Lucius reacting as such in book 7?

Who better to send to the Hogs Head during Hogsmeade Weekends than twenty-two year-old Lucius?

I hope we see Lucius in Book Seven too. I bet knowing what was happening to his son was killing him slowly.

Thanks, somigliana, for reading and commenting.

It strikes me that Lucius loves his wife passionately but doesn't really understand her. Thought-provoking piece.

*nods* I think it would be hard for any wizarding husband to understand what his witchly wife was going through in that situation. Lucius was dealing with his own hell at the same time, and he was hoping the 'memorial' bracelet would be a catalyst for change.

Thanks, writermerrin, for reading and commenting.

*squee* Masterful job, m'dear! Impeccable, fabulous, amazing. Of course. :) I wouldn't expect anything less.

I love that Lucius is distracted by thoughts of his wife--and especially that he's not disappointed in her for the miscarriage. I feel like that happens so much. I imagine it's a terrible situation.

Great!

*blushes* Such praise! Thank you, missblane, your opinion means a lot to me.

Lucius felt his life spinning out of control. Fortunately, he was able to save Narcissa, but he couldn't do anything about what had happened to the baby. I read a lot before writing this story because I wanted to handle the subject with care.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. :)

I think it must be very difficult for a man to deal with a miscarriage, and deal too with his woman dealing with a miscarriage. Neither side really understand the other, and it's so painful to think about that no one discusses it.

Becomes the big pink elephant in the room.

I love how much he loves her, though, and that we have a reason why Dobby is hated by him.

Exactly, gelsey. I read quite a few accounts of miscarriage -- from both viewpoints -- and I also read what the professionals had to say. It was depressing, and I don't know how the people were able to write about such a painfully raw experience. Perhaps it was therapeutic.

I could see how something like this could even break-up a marriage. In my world, Lucius and Narcissa were a love match, so they had something to find their way back to after this tragedy.

Thanks so much for your insightful comments and also for proof-reading the story. *hugs*
