There were places off limits, rooms that echoed with wretched sobs and tireless reflection. She would listen at the door awhile before turning away in search of reprieve. Everywhere she ventured, their minds echoed her own, the still quiet of sanity existing only in the obscure.
High above on the catwalk, she returned to her faithful. The place were only soft grunts and repetition could placate her whirling thoughts. For hours she would stay and listen, matching her breathing with his own.
He was unaware that she had come inside uninvited, curled up in the simple space and declared haven.
