Current event// Arabian nights// meeting at the oasis

It's safe to say that Mahaado is in a perpetual state of homesickness. So this sudden turn of events was comforting for him. It wasn't home, but it wasn't so far away that he recognized nothing at all. The moon was full, the oasis filled with the scents of desert flowers that he knew, and the soft strains of the music performed by his magic did a ( Read more... )

No, not asleep, rather this magician was just star gazing at the moment. Rather nice time to do it, unlike the modern world where artificial light had consumed most stars, in this case... Well literally it was a sky full of diamonds. He looked about himself every so often, seeking another set of stars and remembering the stories behind them. When he noticed a different shape amid the trees then what was there before.

Head tilting a bit to the side he gave a polite, "hello?"

"No, feel free... Ahh do you wish for something to sit upon? Armor can be so difficult to get sand out of after all..." There was a slight airy tone to his voice. Along with the well remembered state of trying to get sand out of the Dark Paladin armor. But before he did any casting, it would be better to get an answer yes? Of course so... Ahh being lightly drunk....

"I haven't met the carpet yet that couldn't handle armor... Oh wait... you can't sit on the ground can you?" He asked then began thinking. Floating carpet? He could do that, but in his state he wasn't too sure how well that would go. "I could bring a rock...ahhh," he suggested in an unfocused sort of way. He closed his eyes, trying to think of something useful for the newcomer to use. Taking the occasional sip of wine as he thought.

How right he was... "Oh, you want that one? Well... tell me where you want it, might as well do something else with my abilities sides the music and drinking right?" Better to not just grab the rock, since he didn't know where the armored figure wanted said rock.

"Very well," Mahaado noted, a slight flick of the hand towards the rock sent it lifting up from the ground. He carried the rock to where the stranger requested, though even in floating there was a bit of swaying and wobbling involved. "Normally, I'm not this shaky..." Mahaado mused into his cup. "There was a time when magicians' like myself were respected..." he noted absently as the rock landed when it reached the desired location.

"Now I'm just a coward..."

He gave a shrug, before settling his gaze onto the Master Chief. "So what brings you to this oasis in the middle of the night... if I may ask?" He questioned, before making a detailed effort to rest the cup on the ground. Without spilling it.

"I see," Mahaado replied, blinking a few times before looking up into the sky again. He missed home, he even missed his home world in the modern sense, at least then he would have had people who cared about him. Now since his journey began he only found comfort by people who he did not recognize at all. In his drunken state, he found that it was harder to deal with the situation then when he was sober. Be around people who he at least recognized only to be hurt and abandoned. Or be around complete strangers and be accepted, how was this even possible? Such a sad state of affairs this was.

"Mana was right, I am a coward."

"If it were that simple..." He politely raised a hand against the offered water, a faint smile on his lips. "The last time I drank myself to this state, I was stargazing three thousand years ago. I don't truly consume anything anymore... because I can not taste anything. This is more a spell, an easily removed one if I so wish, no matter the intoxication level."
