Ending the house hunt...for now

Well, even though there are plenty of loan options for first-time home buyers from the federal & state gov't's, I think Kyle and I are pretty much going to hang up our home hunting hats for the time being and resign our apt. lease. And...I'm okay with that. I had my gut wrenching cry earlier today as the disappointment worked its way out. Financially, with us owning our own company and all of our money filtering through that, it would mean us having to jump through gov't tax hoops for the rest of the year in order to make something happen. Key phrase there: us make something happen.

Obviously, if it was God's timing for us to move & purchase a home, it would be happening w/o a lot of this heartache. BUT I think what this has done is helped us realize that we are both tired of surviving financially, and we want to LIVE financially. That said, I got my resume updated today, and am going to be seeking out PT work to bring some more money in. Money to save up for a down payment, but also money to help us out, help my career out, etc.

But we are going to sit down and write out a list...a very specific list...of what we want in our first home. For instance, I want a kitchen w/ dark cherry sleek wood cabinets w/ stainless steel handles. I also want a green & purple mini-glass tiled back splash in the kitchen w/ light lilac or light green walls. I want all stainless steel appliances. I want hardwoods through the main living area of the house. I want crown molding. I want plantation doors leading onto a deck w/ trees covering it for shade. I want an open floor plan conducive to entertaining. I want at least 3 bedrooms, and 2.5 bath. And that is just the beginning... :)
