So, I think it's safe to say we all know the outcome of last night's election. I would be lying if I were to say I wasn't disappointed. However, the world has not collapsed and fallen into a dark abyss. The banks are open, the mail is still running, I have internet access this morning, and the aliens have not invaded.

As I watched the announcement made on CNN last night, and the crowd erupt into a roar of victory, I was a tad bit sad. However, the one overwhelming feeling I did have was pride. Yes, I am proud of our country and the fact that we can come together as a people. Trust me, when I sang the National Anthem this past Saturday at a college volleyball game after having arrived back in the country just 48 hours prior, my pride for the USA has welled up inside of me to a great degree.

But the most pride I had last night was for my dear friend, Ashley. (And I hope she's reading this.) Ashley has given her all for the Obama campaign for several months now (including some of her arm...literally...tattoo!)  working tirelessly for a cause that she passionately believes in.  Though she has been met with frustrating circumstances and people, she always seemed to prevail.  It has not been an easy road for her these past few years, but when a cause came along that she could stand on, she jumped at the chance.

Ashley, we both know that we don't see eye to eye on everything, but I want you to publicly know how proud I am of you and all that you have accomplished.  Keep it up, okay?
