Since I began to learn Polish and Turkish, cedilla has become my nightmare. I managed to get familiar with many of diacritics, however I shy to show you my handwritten cedilla by this moment, it's a crap.
Please, somebody, comment this post with a handwritten ç and ş!
Still, I can share some of my recent observations, printed only though.
1. It is a very common Ç and Ş you meet every day at your PC. Widely accepted form all over the Turkey. I believe nobody would oppose if I use this form as a temporary substitute for my handwriting.
2. Nice font, unfortunately not the case for casual use.

3. Keep it simple! Just a verical dash is not my weird idea, but instead widely accepted as a simple form for improving outdoors readability e.g. the road signs.

4. No bounds for imagination - it can be also a horizontal underline or even a brutal dot. Not sure if this option is æstetically beautiful, though it works as well as others.
