First off, I'd like to make a huge and sincere apology to Megan. I'm really sorry, I completely forgot that we had no water or heat at our house. I feel really bad about it, and if you should happen to need our house again for whatever reason, I'll personally make sure everything's running fine.

As for New Year's festivities. I'd say they were complete success. And we didn't miss the countdown this year...by much. And the turnout was stellar. Julie, his cousin Scott, his friend Leslie, Alex, and I came down a day early. Leslie taught us this really fun card game called Mau. The rules are pretty complicated, but the game becomes pretty ridiculous (in a good way) and is a riot. Then somehow we ended up fencing with wifflebats. Oh, and we played a couple rounds of storytime. It's when you stand around in a circle, and you pass around a beer (or multiple beers) and as one person is chugging, the person before them has to tell a story, and when the chugger passes it on to the next person, s/he continues the story, etc, etc. Anyways, the first story told involved gay ninjas and samurais. I think even a giant robot. And the second story started off with a firefighter...and ended with a nuclear blast killing everyone but Scotty, Seano, and the Incredible Hulk (of course). Eventually we walked back to the house and passed out for the night.

The next day was New Year's Eve, and that's when everyone else showed up. We hung out for a good while, and then the celebration began around 6pm. Started off with a beer pong tournament. Keith and Brittany even joined in on it and made it to the final round! I was their designated drinker though. I made a lot of biscuits (a staple during any night of drinking, of course). I could spend hours recapping the night, but it's probably best you just go on Facebook and see the 180 photos I posted up. I think it does a pretty good job visually documenting the night (there's actually around 250 pictures, but I had to cut it down and pick the best 180 would suffice). I could have actually taken almost 200 more photos...but the battery ran out of juice. Twice in the night, in fact.

So yeah, towards the end of the night, the party was moved to Swimmer House. And that's where I ultimately passed out. We were watching Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and everyone from our house left. And I thought I'd stay for one more episode...but I ended up falling asleep before they even started it.

But the excitement doesn't end there! Because the next morning, I woke up with sleep paralysis. And not only that, I woke up to Boyce's cat sleeping on my chest. And to top that off, I was hallucinating that Nathen was talking to me and saying some pretty funny things. So I was laughing...but they were probably just odd groans as they usually are. It must have been some site: me lying there with my fingers twitching...a cat sleeping on me...and me making strange noises.

I finally came to, and it was a little after 10. It was time for me to head back to my house...and I remembered: I didn't wear any shoes when I walked to Swimmer House. So on my way back home, I think I was probably still a lil drunk, stumbling around. My hair was blowing wildly in the wind. And I was wearing mismatched socks. I'm pretty sure this was by far my most hobo-ish experience ever. The only thing I needed to complete the look was a handkerchief sack tied at the end of a pole. Anyways, on my walk back, a car drove past me. It was an elderly couple...and they laughed at me. It's totally understandable.

Anyways, in reiteration, New Year's was a blast this year. There was some drama and quite a bit of property damage (mostly done by residents of our own house, sadly), but hopefully that will be left behind with the old year. And hopefully things will change for the better with this new year.

Oh, and don't forget: the New Year that really counts is on January 29 this year.
