Yay furniture!

Our lving room set was delivered this morning! We now have furniture for every room in the house. I guess that means we're finished moving in! We've had all the boxes unpacked for a couple of weeks now, but still have stuff that needs to get hung on walls, stored, etc. But for all intents and purposes, we're done.

Mowed the lawn and weeded a few days ago, and discovered we've got a lot more yard than we thought we did. Took us almost two hours and we're technically not done yet -- our string trimmer died on us before we got very far with it, so we had to buy a new one. Still trying to figure out how to get the string threaded properly. It keeps getting sucked back into the spool. We've bought flowers to plant in the front yard. Some impatiens and a few other things I can't remember the name of, but they're really pretty and don't require full sun. We'll try to get them planted tomorrow. Still have a fair amount of landscaping to do in the back yard, but each thing in its time. It's great actually owning the land around our house, and being able to do whatever we like with it. We're leaving the previous owners' landscaping mostly intact, just sort of building on it. We've also bought some tomato and habenero pepper plants to start a little garden with.

I feel all domestic now. :-) But it's exciting! It's been about 17 years since I've lived in a house that had any usable land (the rental townhome Shari and I last lived in had a little patch of land in front and back, but not much and we didn't have permission to do much of anything to it, and the condo I lived in with my folks for 15 years obviously didn't have any yard at all. Just a few planters on the deck). We had a nice garden back then, with all sorts of herbs, fruits, and vegetables. I kind of miss it, but I don't think we're going to go all out garden here. Just a few vegetable plants and a bunch of flowers and bushes, plus the herbs and such we've got living in the dining room. Speaking of which, we bought more of those. We've got a regular greenhouse going on in there now. *grins*

OK, that's enough rambling about the house. Later!
