Xenakis <---> Cage
Xenakis required his sound materials had to be absolute in their definition; so that if there were actually a "science of memeticism" (i.e. well-defined mathematical models arising from/supported by mechanical measurements) he might have liked John Cage's music better.
It is my duty, then, to validate "frogs-per-minute" as a musical unit of measurement. Amongst many, many others categorizable as "nounsounds-per-minute" along with an appropriate calculus in the manner of Wallace Berry. Why Xenakis had such a bias for classical instruments/waveforms and particular stochastic distributions (why NOT the I Ching distribution?) is beyond me.
