Alright, so let's take a look at a life of a boy named Jim Macken.
Jim was orphaned at very young age and had to steal in order to eat. He also had the cutest little brother to look after, but that was cool. However, they were badly mistreated by the other people who lived in the same village as them (mostly just Luca.). But even in such difficult circumstances Jim was able to dream and wish, he wished that everyone in the village would just kick the bucket so that they wouldn't be bullied ever again.
And then one night Jim's wish surprisingly happened; there was a fire at the village that destroyed the whole place and killed everyone. Jim and Luca couldn't have been any more happy when they were witnessing this horrible destruction (they were the tiniest crazies ever.). But, unfortunately, Jim also learned an important lesson that night; be careful what you wish for.
Few years later after Luca's death, Jim (around age 10-11) who had pretty much lost his interest in living, was taken to the earl Trancy's estate with several other young boys. And it didn't really take long time until the boys realized why the earl had gathered them. They were kept in a basement, where the diseases spread quickly and kids kept dying due to poor hygiene. However, there was a rumour about a faery going on among the boys, and since no one else didn't seem to believe in it, Jim decided to give it a shot. C'mon, what could possibly go wrong? But, what he managed to summon wasn't really your typical faery. When the mysterious spider!faery found out that Jim didn't have a wish that he wanted to be granted, he told him that they could make a contract after Jim finds one. Oh right, and also told him that he wasn't a faery.
After the chat with the demon, Jim finally realized that he lacked a reason to live and decided that it was time for things to change. He succesfully managed to gain earl Trancy's favour by becoming earl's best bed-mate so far. And so he also gained a new name and identity; Alois Trancy, earl Trancy's long lost son and the family heir. This set up went on for a while, until Alois met the not!faery again, finally making the contract with him. Soon after that the earl Trancy died ~mysteriously~ , leaving everything he owned to Alois. The first things that Alois did, was to release all other boys from the basement and re-decorate the whole estate.
In four years Alois had managed to form rather unhealthy and dependent relationship with his demon!butler, Claude. And started obsessing about boy called Ciel Phantomhive.. But whatever.. As long makes him happy, right :D
