Yeah, busy

So I got busy and missed a few months.

Flip City was "fine." Attendance could have been better. We did not lose money. The popstand made maney.

The Great Lakes Open was great. They treated the ams right. I finished in the top 10 [10th!] and qualified for Am Nationals.

I played like dog doo at the Peoria Open. Met a nice guy playing on a deep card on the last day. I've seen a lot of him since then. He has been coming up for the Illinois Open Series.

At the Brent Hambrick I tied for the lead after round 1 but could not keep it together. I took the last prizing spot but left five or six hours before awards.

IOS #1 and #2 were lightly attended but profitable. We made the rest of what we needed for Worlds travel expenses. Cash disc sales were over the top at both events.

I shaved my head right before the Sturgeon. The shaved head is a symbolic reminder to God of my prior prayers for Gordie. All prayer is symbolic since all speech is symbolic. My shaved head is like a billboard to God saying, "Heal and save Gordie."

I won the Sturgeon. Four players played. A win is a win.

I played well at Worlds. I played over my rating and finished 9th of 112 Am Masters. This is the only tournament this year I've played Am Master. I shot +4 at Walnut and -3 at Carrol Marty for two Am Master hot rounds. If Chuck Kennedy's unofficial ratings hold up, I'll have shot two 990+ rounds. Kelsey won, Kira came in third, Diana beat as many players as her rating would have suggested she would.

We're heading to IOS #3 next week, State Champs after that, then the Blast a couple of weeks later.
