1)Where did you begin 2008?
On a rooftop with Rachel in Cologne! Trying not to get hit by fireworks.
2) What was your status by Valentine's Day?
Just finished my first semester at Freiburg and stoked for my surprise visit home. I do remember standing on Bertholdsstraße and wishing Daniel a happy Valentine's Day.
3) Were you in school (anytime this year)?
Yep, at Freiburg and then Emory.
4) How did you earn your money?
By being a fraud. Between Fulbright and Emory, I've somehow convinced a lot of people to give me money just to read and take classes. It would probably be spent better on someone else.
5) Did you have to go to the hospital?
Luckily not.
6) Did you have any encounters with the police?
Nope. We almost did in Cologne due to a small accident with a parking garage exit, but the guard took our insurance info and let us go.
7) Where did you go on holiday?
St. Louis and Atlanta (for break while in Germany), Munich, Venice, Rome, Luxembourg, Belgium, Cologne (thrice), Berlin, Bodensee, Strasbourg, Trier, St. Louis again, and Lawrence.
8) What did you purchase that was over $500?
a Honda Civic
9) Did you know anybody who got married?
I don't think so.
10) Did you know anybody who passed away?
Not personally.
11) Have you run into anybody you left high school with?
I ran into Beth Andrus in the security line at the Atlanta airport, otherwise most my meetings with high school persons have been planned. And awesome.
12) Did you move anywhere?
Moved home from Freiburg, moved to Atlanta, family moved to Lawrence.
13) What sporting events did you go to?
I watched the EuroCup games on tv.
14) What concerts/shows did you go to?
I saw Gaslight Anthem in Freiburg. I went twice to MoBot. I think that's it.
15) Are you registered to vote?
Yep.
16) Who did you want to win Survivor?
I've never watched that and didn't even know it's still on.
17) Where do you live now?
Decatur
18) Describe your birthday.
I can't remember what happened the first part of the day. I think we saved the family birthday part for the next day. But I did have all my friends over that night for a party and made tiramisu with Lincoln's face on it. And Mike and Rachel did an amazing rendition of a house divided against itself.
19) What's the one thing you thought you would never do but did?
I don't think much could top my trip to the East Side with Angela and Kyle. Sweet baby Jesus.
20) What has been your favorite moment?
An awful lot happened, so it's hard to pick a favorite. Probably surprising my mom with a visit from Germany.
21) What's something you learned about yourself?
I can actually manage my time well if I try. I'm maybe not actually that much of a fraud. I have really awesome friends and family.
22) Any new additions to your family?
Nope.
23) What was your best month?
Probably March or August or December. I really don't know.
24) What music will you remember 2008 by?

25) Who has been your best drinking buddy?

Yes, some pretty great ones in Freiburg and Atlanta

It's beginning to seem that way.

One of my last nights in Freiburg with Daniela and Hed'a. Mez's over Thanksgiving, although it wasn't really out. My adventure with Angela and Kyle.

I didn't do my work as well as I could have. I did get braver, but I wish I could've been even more so.
