Sigh. What I hear illustrates many of the reasons I am the way I am as a GM.
Player Vetting: I GM in a style that focuses on RP'ing, storytelling, and simulationism over murder-hoboing. So if a potential player is not compatible with that style, they aren't invited to my table (or invited back). There is nothing wrong with the murder-hobo style, but it isn't what I do. People who love the murder-hoboing would be happier in a different group and the groups I put together would be happier without a murder-hobo. Players who are argumentative, disruptive, unproductive rules warriors, not team players, etc. are not welcome at my table. No geek social fallacy here. People have to get on well with each other.
Character Vetting: No character can be played without GM approval. And I will not approve a whole bunch of things. Unproductive disruptive characters? Not allowed. Characters that don't fit the campaign frame or campaign theme? Not allowed.
I haven't watched those, mostly because when I watch or listen to other people playing games, I mostly just get sad that I'm not in the game too. My husband has been listening to the Critical Hit podcast and really enjoying that one. That one is 4th edition.

I hadn't heard of Critical Role. Do they archive the sessions?
Titansgrave I have heard of, and plan to watch, but... well, my daughter's been monopolizing the TV with little ponies. :)

I have heard of these, however, and I do mean to check them out at some point.
