[Tired of being told what she should or shouldn't do by her weyr, Sam has absconded with her gold, Kimbith. for some reason she feels a lot more secure than in the last world. Maybe it's because Kimbith seems a lot like her best friend. It almost feels like she's back home, with her dragon telling her that some things might just be a bad idea

[To Roxas's surprise, his blue Aubath balances him out pretty well. Where he's serious, his dragon's cheerful and playful; where he has trouble understanding things, Aubath is quick on the uptake and clever. It's... really nice. Roxas is happier than he remembers being for a while.]

[Roxas has also learned that he loves flying with his dragon, so they took to the skies and had a blast just trying out different flying maneuvers and goofing around. Aubath insisted on wheeling back around to a beach that they passed to play in the water, and Roxas couldn't think of a reason to say no, so now they're soaring down, lower, lower, towards the surface --

splash!

Rider and dragon hit the water and they both come up laughing.]

Hey, what was with that landing?

What're you complaining about? [Aubath dips his nose into the water to splash Roxas, who covers his face and laughs again.]

Okay, now it's on!

[Cue a very noisy waterfight. So much for that nap, huh?]

[abusedingly]

[The first of the two to wake up, Sam is predictably cranky. Mama likes her naptime. She goes to the edge of the water, yelling.]

Hey! Can't you see we're trying to sleep over here!

[checkeredingly]

[Aubath, having better hearing than his human, is the one who hears her and turns his head. Roxas took it as a chance to splash him, but when the dragon doesn't respond likewise, he follows his gaze. Aubath relays the message to him.]

Oh... Sorry! [Roxas waves in apology] We didn't see you!

[abusedingly]

[Somehow she finds that hard to believe. Her dragon is a DRAGON. It's huge and gold.]

How could you miss a DRAGON? [she gestures toward Kimbeth]

[checkeredingly]

... uh... we were just... focused on getting to the water... [he's starting to feel stupid again]

[Hey, hey, don't get discouraged.

Roxas drew himself back up.] Sorry! We were caught up in having fun, is all.

[abusedingly]

Like that's going to make it-- It's not like they did it on purpose. Let it go. It's too good of a sun to waste arguing.

All right, all right. Be more careful next time.

We should swim too. There's sand in places sand should never be.

[Like she could say no to that face.]

[checkeredingly]

See? You don't have to just lie down and take it.

... Yeah, whatever! [splash]

[Aubath laughs, and the fight starts again]

[Sam watched as her dragon made her way out to the water. Reluctantly, she followed after a bit. Nobody else was going to do the scrubbing, after all.]

Besides, it's not fair to let a blue have all the fun.

Yeah, yeah. I hear you.

[checkeredingly]

[Aubath turns his head when he hears the gold stepping into the water. His eyes swirl cheerfully.] Gonna join us, then?

[Roxas looks over in surprise. He thought the girl would go back to sleep...]

[abusedingly]

She said she couldn't let a blue have all the fun. And how am I going to stop her?

It's not like the water has sharks in it.

[checkeredingly]

Cool! [Aubath immediately swings his tail, sending water Kimbeth's way~]

[Oh! He almost forgot!] I'm Roxas, and this is Aubath.

[abusedingly]

[Kimbeth thinks that just this once she can play with a blue. So she splashes back.]

Sam. And this is Kimbeth.

[checkeredingly]

[This is Aubath: ":DDDDDDDDDDD"]

It's nice to meet you, S --

[This is also Aubath: SPLASH SPLASH SPLASH SPLASH]

[Roxas has to shield his face, but he's laughing.] Hey!

[abusedingly]

[Oh god, so soaked!]

Hey, you stupid dragon!

[She starts splashing back with no help from her dragon.]

[checkeredingly]

[Aubath laughs happily] Hey, relax, would you? We're just playing! [He play-lunges at Kimbeth, creating a cascade of water]

[Roxas is drenched and his hair looks really funny when it's down, but he doesn't seem to notice or care -- he's too busy throwing as much water at his dragon as he can]

[abusedingly]

[After that nap, Kimbeth doesn't mind playing. So she humours the other dragon, splashing along with her rider.]

[Sam, on the other hand, is actually starting to have fun splashing up a storm.]
