ESCAPE PLAN #1

Jan 03, 2010 23:10

[ If you're anywhere near this computer lab, you'll noticed that Rodney has been pretty busy ripping it apart and putting it together again, school boy shirt sleeves rolled up but still slightly smarter than is normal for him. He also seems to have borrowed a whole lot of gear from the science department -- because, hello? Saving everyone, far more ( Read more... )

[standing in the doorway, face blank and stoic. He was just passing by, and all the noise caught his attention]

... What are you doing?

Trying to get out of here.

[ SNAP GOES MCKAYS PATIENCE ]

Oh, ok, because obviously the time you have set aside to get in my way and irritate me when I'm, you know, doing something constructive is far less of a waste of time. Do you have a better idea? I mean, really, if you're hiding some genius escape plan under that ridiculous hair of yours I am all ears.

[insults to his appearance mean nothing to this man] No one has ever figured out a way to escape, and countless many have tried.

It is better to accept fate and make due. [you'll be happier if you calm the hell down and make some friends]

Well they aren't me, so excuse me if I continue to try.

[ HUFFILY GOES BACK TO TYPING. ]

Oh. Thank you. Not that I need luck, obviously -- [ WHEELS HIS WAY BACK ACROSS THE ROOM AGAIN ] mostly just more time.

... Time is something that is rather lacking in this place. You have a week, perhaps a few days longer if you are lucky, before you have to start over again.

... and not all the worlds are conducive to... whatever it is you seem to be doing. This place is likely to push you to the limits of your creativity.

[ Surprisingly intelligent. Huh. Rodney did not expect this. ]

Yes, yes this is exactly my problem --

[ WHEELS BACK AGAIN and curses. ]

You see, none of these readings make any sense, which I expected of course -- this place is fictional, why would it make any sense -- but I was hoping for at least some kind of pattern so I can find a weak point to overload the system and let us out -- [ WHEELS BACK ] -- since I am assuming it wont let me take control from he inside no matter how hard I try.

[ah. Science.]

...

[Reflex reaction is still "science --> Vexen --> dislike." ... he's going to try to ignore that reaction.]

What system is this that you are planning on attacking?

The system keeping us here.

[ Finishes typing and looks up. Ok. Try and be nice. Try and explain. He's working on this, ok. Ok. ]

Look -- my theory is that this is a manufactured reality. Our bodies are in an enforced sleep state and our consciousness is being kept in this virtual environment. It would explain why people die and come back without a scratch so many times, why this entire place changes so easily, why I am not dying of hunger -- it would make sense.

[ Wheels across distractedly and checks something else ]

In short? I am hoping I can force us all to wake up from a bad dream.
