[Death is not only confused. Death is, in fact, really not enjoying himself at all.
For a start, he doesn't have the apparatus to do what the voices in his head are telling him to do, and since they refuse to go away until he does it, he's stuck with them until further notice.
He's now sitting in a corner somewhere, banging his skull quietly against a wall in the somewhat desperate hope that it will make the singing stop.
