What's wrong? ... And is your hand going to be alright there?

[He doesn't look at up Abel. He just stares at the papers on the desk. With a distant voice he says...]

Nothing. I have to fight my own battles.

... Are... Are you sure?

[That outburst really didn't fit the description of 'nothing'. He wanders a little closer.]

[He looks up and stares at Abel for awhile. There's a long silence, before he finally speaks.]

I'm sure.

[The stare is worrying him, Jaaaaack.]

... If you insist, sir. Though, perhaps you ought to find some ice for your hand, it sounds like you hit that desk rather hard.

Is there anything else you would like to discuss with me?

[He sighed. What was he supposed to say? He had fought so many things physically and mentally tougher than this, and yet...]

You don't have to go just yet.

Oh! You are a teacher here, what class was this? I... I think I might have... missed it?

[Had to think of at least a good reason as to why he didn't have to go yet.]

[He pointed to the chalkboard with the confusing equations. Jack Bauer understood them, but somehow he could defy them in his universe. Because he's Jack Bauer, dammit!]

Physics.

You look a little too old to be a student. Did this place force you to be one?

... Yes, it's rather odd, isn't it? I was hoping to be a librarian, but apparently, I was cast with this bad roll. Oh well, it's only for a short amount of time...

[He's a light pink sort of tone, and not looking Jack in the face, now intently studying that WONDERFULLY fascinating floor.]

[He's still staring at Abel, feeling those wrong emotions again. It was good that he had extreme willpower. He would never forgive himself if he had done anything wrong.

This whole situation was just damn wrong.]

I'm sure you would have made a great librarian.

Hopefully that short amount of time ends soon. This is a day that I wish wouldn't last 24 hours.

Ugh, me too... I rather wish this whole week was over already... It's wearing on my nerves terribly. You seem to be handling this well enough.
