New Salem, A Monster-Hunting, Mystery Group Unlike No Other! (Telegram Info Below!)

Your character wakes up groggily, feeling as if their head has been split open. As they look around, they know what they aren't. They aren't where they used to be. Not in their original place, perhaps even in the original time! Yet, here they are in this strange, little industrial town of 7,000, being told by the ghost of a witch the town had formally burned at the stake they had been summoned to protect.
She admitted to being unsure as to why your character had been channeled, perhaps it was some sort of unfinished business from a previous life, or karma the universe wanted settled. Either way, here you were, trying to piece together the who, what, where, when and why of this odd town.
Set in the late 1980s, New Salem is a great mix of modern and fantasy. You're allowed magic (to a reasonable extent) and are able to be whatever species you desire, including a monster if you wish to be one of the creatures destroying the town!
Prefer to take more of a back seat to the monster hunting and prefer to solve the mystery surrounding New Salem? Inquisitive types are welcome too! You don't only have to be summoned in to be part of the story. You're also welcome to play a citizen of New Salem exploring just why these monsters have been appearing. Does it have something to do with the titular witch? Perhaps it has something to do with the a sector of the church being Corrupted? All roles are good roles in the town of New Salem.
