Battlestar Galactica Podcast in a Snowstorm

Dec 07, 2006 09:13

This is an absolute must hear: Ron Moore, several cast members and Ron's wife Teri are in a Vancouver BC condo during last week's snowstorm. It's three hours of roundtable, with many interesting and funny moments. They ask each other questions; they also take questions from Teri's internet board members. If you know Ron Moore, (not personally, but through his previous episode podcasts) then you know there's Scotch whisky handy (and what do you do in a snowstorm when you run out of ice? Gaius Baltar to the rescue!)

This stands out, though: One of the net board questions to the actors was "If you could play another BSG character, who would it be?"
Jamie Bamber (Apollo): 'Baltar!'
Tamoh Penikett (Helo): 'Chief!'
Ron Moore (Exec. Producer/Creator): 'Adama!'
James Callis (Baltar): 'Tricia Helfer!' - (Six)
'Six?' They laugh at Callis, because Tricia plays nearly all of her scenes with him. That, and James has been offering versions of 'I want to have more beautiful women in my scenes!' riffs all night. James explains, 'because then I would be playing next to . . . me!

They all howl - Oh! The megalomania! Ron Moore's take on James' self-admitted onanism, "And you think I write Baltar 'Over the top?'

Also, Helo was supposed to be left for dead on Caprica in the mini-series. But after the DGA Awards screening of the mini-series, Moore was standing in the lobby with some Sci-Fi network executives and David Eick, his co-producer, and recalls that all that he heard from departing audience members was 'But what happened to Helo?' 'Mrs. Ron' also deserves some credit for his revival.
