The worst thing, the absolute worst thing when reading a book on military history is the lack of maps. That is just fucken incomprehensible. I have always fucken hated that ever since I started reading about and got interested in military history when I was 10. How the fuck can you npot have maps that are fucken clear with cities that the text fucken references. Military history without maps is like engineering without maps, surgery without maps, math without paper, etc. It is fucken impossible to reference!
Oh and John Keegan is fucken boring compared to Barbara Tuchman. Tuchman's 'Guns of August' just kicks so much ass. If ass kicking where countries, 'Guns of August' would be China.
