Getting away from work and NaNoWriMo

Nov 19, 2008 23:56

So, I just got home tonight from work at 11:10 PM (- -;;), and I'm really burned out, but I have to slam another 1000 words into NaNoWriMo before I go to bed.

Fortunately, drox  came to my rescue with a short exercise in procrastination that helped restore my sanity. Here's her book meme with the following rules:

Rules:
*Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
*Turn to page 56.
*Find the fifth sentence.
*Post that sentence along with these instructions in your LiveJournal.
*Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

The nearest book is my NaNoWriMo project on my computer--my original novel Standing Mute. Here's the sentence:

“Have you ever had someone love you unconditionally--you know, right or wrong, succeed or fail, they loved you just the same?”

(Rowena Vesnak to her one-time nemesis Harris Augustine as they move awkwardly toward friendship.)

Thanks, drox , I feel better now.
