Highland Park review!

Haha, it's been a LONG time since I used this journal, but I needed a place to post my review of my latest Bsb concert, the TIU show in Highland Park on 6/17/10!

At this point, I've been to so many amazing Bsb shows that I don't know I can honestly say "OMG, BEST SHOW EVER!!!" because I say that about every one LOL.  That said, it was another amazing concert!!!

I definitely had the best SEATS ever!  10th row!  We could see everything clearly the whole time - not too far back, and no heads in the way!  Perfect!  We had LOTS of AJ on our side (the right side if you're looking at the stage); Nick and Brian tended to favor the left side.  Can't complain, though!  AWESOME SHOW!

The highlights!

- They started soundcheck with "If I Knew Then" - my favorite song off TIU!  (Which is funny because I didn't even like that song the first time I heard it LOL).
- James and Baylee were there!  Howie brought James on stage at the beginning of soundcheck, and then Baylee was pushing James up and down the aisles in his wagon.  SO ADORABLE!!!
- Baylee and James also were on stage to open the show.  I only got a blurry pic of them, but Baylee was so cute introducing them.  He introduced himself and then said something like, "and this is James, Howie's kid."  LOL  Hopefully someone got a video of that.
- Howie waved at me during soundcheck, and Brian waved at me during the show!
- Howie said "and stuff like that" twice during his answer during the soundcheck Q&A.  Love!
- The opening of the concert was awesome!!!  (Everybody)
- Even the three songs I hate off TIU (BBL, PDA, SAD) sounded great live.  I actually really enjoyed PDA!  It's like Shining Star - it will always be a skip song on the CD, but it's pretty awesome in concert!
- I LOVED "We've Got It Goin' On"!  I got a video of that one.  Never seen it live before!  Old-school!
- "Larger Than Life" was EPIC, from the cool costumes to the fact that they did the original LTL dance - LOVE!!!
- I adored the Boys' movie parodies!  So cool and funny!  That was a great touch!  Brian's and Nick's were my faves, naturally!
- Nick is SO HOT!  You know I'm a Brian girl, and Brian is adorable and such a ham; he's the one I watched most during the soundcheck.  But at the actual show?  OMG... the way Nick dances, I couldn't take my eyes off him.  He is pure sex.  Especially in a wifebeater.
- James Bond/Mission Impossible moment toward the end - 00Carter, anyone?
- I caught a free Ravinia t-shirt before the show!  I also bought a Bsb t-shirt, of course, and the "I Want It MY Way" onesie for my nephew-to-be.  Can't wait to see the look on my sister and brother-in-law's faces when I give it to them!  Hahaha

Things I didn't like...

- I didn't miss the band like I thought I would, but I still would have preferred live music to the DJ.
- The dancers were stupid and pointless.  They added nothing to the show, since the Boys did so much choreography themselves, and they just got in the way of the guys when I was trying to get good pics.
- On the "This Is Us" tour, they only sang ONE of my four favorite songs off the album!  (This Is Us)  I missed If I Knew Then, Masquerade, and Shattered, though at least they did IIKT at soundcheck.
- The opening act, Mindless Behavior... uh... okay, the positives there are:  they weren't as obnoxious as Girlicious, and they could dance.  The negatives are:  they lip-synced, which made them completely pointless, and I was deeply disturbed by 12-year-old boys thrusting at me from onstage.  Not sure how we were supposed to feel about that LOL.

That about sums it up for now.  I have like 50 pics and some videos to upload later.
